This beautiful Karaja persian rug was hand knotted in the north-western Part of Iran, close to the Turkish and Azerbaijan Border. The village of Karaja is located close to the city oh Heriz, which is well known to collectors of geometric designed rugs. Heriz design has a great influence on the style of rugs made in this area. Karaja rugs are finer and thinner than Heriz rugs. They share the way they are constructed: Cotton foundation and a pile of good quality wool.
This nice sample of classic traditional Karaje rugs is in a very good condition.
