The Forbidden City in Beijing was home to a multitude of rare and fine silk carpets. A popular motif were dragons, often framed by a band of clouds - border. After the revolution, most of the pieces made their way to Europe and the USA, where they are sometimes offered at auctions and now achieve impressively high prices.
Our collection of luxurious works in the style of the imperial carpets of China are made in Nepal by excellent artesans. Our Collection includes a variety of designs and color palettes, we use the original style as a guide to reflect the magnificence and beauty of these rugs.
For this piece, 80% of the finest matka silk from China and 20% of Tibetan highland wool were used, the yarn was spun by hand in order to achieve the incomparable appearance.
The feel is particularly soft and cozy thanks to the use of the finest materials. The carpet is approx. 08-10 mm high.
