The Design: A Trellis in Motion

Across the entire surface, with no border and edge to edge, runs a trellis of curved hexagons, rings and arches. The motifs interlock like the links of a chain and line up in vertical rows, recalling the latticed windows of oriental palaces, translated into a calm, modern line. The darker blue of the drawing does not sit hard on the ground but blends softly into it, so the rug feels light and gentle.

What makes it special is its interplay with light. Bamboo silk is highly reflective: looking with the pile, the surface appears bright and almost silver; against the pile it shows its deep, clear light blue. The rug changes its mood with every time of day. Bamboo silk is a viscose fibre made from bamboo cellulose, with the look of real silk, soft and cool underfoot. The rug was hand-knotted in India.

Where Mystique Light Blue Feels at Home

At 273 x 183 cm (approx. 9 x 6 ft), it anchors a seating group in the living room or lies generously in the bedroom. The cool blue brings freshness and calm to a room and pairs with white, light grey and natural wood as well as with accents in silver, chrome or brass. In the study it creates a clear, focused atmosphere. More rugs in a similar size: rugs 200 x 300 cm (7 x 10 ft).
