Exclusive Tibetan rug, hand-knotted from wool and silk.

Rugs in Zebra design are typicla for the Art Deco style. In the 1920´s they were produced in China for the British market..

Our collection of high quality Tibetan Art Deco rugs is made in Nepal, Kathmandu by excellent artisans. In order to get as close as possible to the look of the ancient originals, we specifically looked for old women in small villages who can still master the art of hand spinning. This has not been common practice in the rug industry in Nepal for a number of years. Hand spinning gives the wool a certain irregularity in the yarn thickness, which is what gives this rug its special look.

In this piece, the finest matka silk from China was combined with Tibetan highland wool. The different yarns reflect light in different shades in order to achieve the incomparable appearance of these carpets.

The feel is particularly soft and cozy thanks to the use of the finest materials. The carpet is approx. 1/4 inch / 1/3 inch high.
