This beautiful rug originated in rural India, where it was hand-knotted by skilled weavers. It is of excellent quality with a subtle sheen and muted colours. The design comes from ancient Persia. The style of this rug is known as Kashan or Kerman allover design and is typical of antique rugs from the Safavid Dynasty in the late 16th century.
